Novotný Antonín

Antonín NOVOTNÝ, Ph.D. (COL ret.), born 1963. In 1985 he graduated from the Military College of Ground Forces in Vyškov and served at commands positions to 1988. From 1988 till 1991 he attended postgraduate studies, branch of study Military Intelligence. In 1991 – 2008 he served at various positions within Military Intelligence. From 2008 till 2010 Defence Adviser at Permanent Delegation of the Czech Republic to NATO HQ and Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to EU in Brussels responsible for horizontal security and strategic issues. He attended several professional intelligence courses abroad and in 2012 the Modular Short Course at NATO Defense College in Roma. In 2011-2012 senior lecturer of Security Studies Group, the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Defence (UoD) in Brno. Since November 2012 working as an assistant professor in Centre for Security and Military Strategic Studies, UoD. He is also Member of the Editorial Board of Defence & Strategy journal. In 2015 he finished PhD study at the University of Defence. He is specialised in the problems of pooling and sharing, security threats and risks, armed conflicts and development of the security environment.​
