Lt.Col. MUDr. Vladimír Pavlík, Ph.D., born in 1969, the theme of his doctoral thesis was antioxidant vitamins in a prevention of cardiovascular disorders, from 1997 till 2002 subordinate doctor, Clinic of Metabolism, University Hospital, Hradec Králové. Long-term study attachments: military schools in Canada, France, Switzerland; foreign missions: Kabul, Afghanistan; deputy chief surgeon, Headquarters ISAF 2008; member of the NATO international panel Research and Technology Organization (RTO), dealing with problems of combat foodstuff rations. Research fellow at the Department of Military Hygiene, Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defence, Hradec Králové. He is occupied with problems of military hygiene, nutrition, combat rations, obesity and metabolic malfunctions under the conditions of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic.
