Vojtěch Němeček, Ph.D. (Col., ret.), born in 1957. After graduating from military university, he served as a commanding and staff officer at engineer battalion from 1980 to 1991. From 1992 to 2002 he was assigned at operational command headquarters in Olomouc (2nd army corps HQ, Land Forces HQ). At the same period he began his academic career at Military Academy in Brno as a professor's assistant and later as a Head of Engineer Department. From 2003 to 2006 he served as a Chief Engineer Czech Armed Forces at the General Staff. From 2006 to 2009 he was the Section Head, NATO Training Group Section at ACT in Norfolk, USA. He retired from active military service in 2013 when he left his post as the School Commander of MoD College and Military High School in Moravska Trebova. He deals with security policy, military strategy, crisis management and the deployment of Czech Armed Forces during nonmilitary threats. He cooperates with institutes which solve problems connected with the buildup and development of the Czech Armed Forces engineer corps and engineer technologies.
