Oldřich Hoďánek, born in 1949. After graduating from the Military Academy in Brno (1972) he served as a professional soldier in a variety of posts in the area of maintenance support up to Deputy Commander of the tank division for armament. Since 1993, he served in various leading positions at the MoD. He graduated from the postgraduate studies at the U.S. Army Logistics Management College at Fort Lee/VA (1993) and from the international management resources course in Monterey/CA (1995). He worked in the area of development of the Planning, Programming and Budgeting System and participated in the development of a series of strategic and planning documents. He ended his military career in 2009 as a member of the permanent delegation to NATO in Brussels.
