Pikner Ivo

Lt.Col. GS. Dr. Ivo Pikner,  born in 1963, Military Academy Brno, chief of car service, from 1995 at the Department of Military Intelligence and Electronic Warfare, Military Academy Brno. In 2006 he partook in the military mission ALTHEA, EUFOR Headquarters, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the Chief of Operational Planning CJ5 Section. From 2006 till 2010 member of a working team NATO RTA/SAS-066 to elaborate a long-term study called Joint Operations 2030. In the year 2008 he completed his Ph.D. studies on state defence management and defended Ph.D. thesis Arms Systems of Ground Forces in Future Operations. 2007-2008 deputy director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, University of Defence (ÚSS UO), later the head of Section for Development and Building of Armed Forces. In 2012 the General Staff Course, University of Defence Brno. At present, senior research fellow of the Department of Lifelong Learning, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), University of Defence Brno. He specialises in characteristics and trends of military development, problems of deployment of armed forces in future operations and their impact on drafting concept documents.
