Information Process as a Part of Command and Control System (Part II)
Abstract:
The Command and Control process may be defined as an ability to determine what to do and implement effective actions. With the use of the Standard Operating Procedures, the commander must be able to realize set tasks in defined time. The C2 system must be able to monitor and collect data on the situation, to develop an understanding of the situation, to develop a course(s) of action and select one, to develop a plan to execute the selected course of action, to execute the plan, to include providing direction and leadership to subordinates, to monitor execution of the plan and adapt as necessary. The commander draws the picture of situation on the base of surveillance and data collection from various sources, classified and unclassified. Ryp Petr
Ing. Petr Ryp, Lt.Col. (Ret.) , born in 1966, Military Technical College Liptovský (VVTŠ) Mikuláš, he served in a variety of command assignments, till the level of battalion, he worked at the Air Force Headquarters, Stará Boleslav, as a deputy chief of Operational Department, and after that at the Join Command Olomouc, Operational Section, as a deputy chief for the preparation senior officers, commanders and staffs. In 2002 he graduated from the Battalion Staff Course, dealing with state defence management and combat deployment of air defence (PVO) troops. In 2006, he became a senior lecturer at the Department of State Defence Management, Institute of Operational and Tactical Studies (ÚOTS), Brno; from 2008 senior lecturer for the Institute of Strategical and Defence Studies (ÚSOS), University of Defence Brno. In the year 2010 he became the head of military art group, Department of Lifelong Learning, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), University of Defence. Since January 1st, 2011, he has been outside defence department.
