(LVI.): 172-189 | DOI: 10.3849/1210-3292.24.2015.03.172-189 Infantry company urban operations training experience shows that effective training requires interaction of doctrine with equipment and structure of units. NATO standards must be further developed at the national level to match the technology and organization of own units. Training requires elaboration of training manuals that contain specific tactical exercises for standardized training facilities. Experienced training instructors should focus on the preparation of organic units. Transferring experience from instructors directly to organic units is more efficient than preparing individuals in professional courses. |

(LV.): 25-39 | DOI: 10.3849/1210-3292.23.2014.04.025-039 Europe is a maritime continent whose economic concerns and security could be backed only by the power of navy forces. The Czech Republic is not a maritime state, but it is a member country of both NATO and the EU, it participates in the formation of common security policy. Czech soldiers could take part in combined joint military operations, where one of forces is also a Navy. Dozens of Czech citizens are employed in common international institutes and staffs; they all need a broader view, including the knowledge of Integrated European Naval Strategy. Their activities promote the status of the Czech Republic at international level. |

Space Policy through the Prism of the Concept of Strategic CultureReviewed - ReviewMgr. Jakub Fučík, PhDr. Petr Suchý, Ph.D.Vojenské rozhledy / Czech Military Review Nr. 3/2014, Vol. XXIII. (LV.): 90-105 | DOI: 10.3849/1210-3292.23.2014.03.090-105 The article deals with the issue of creation and realization of space policy. Space programs of individual states are closely connected to decision-making processes of the (general) state (public) policy. Therefore we can raise a question which factors influence these processes and the formulation of space policy and also if they are so unique that could be related only to one particular state. The aim of this article is to focus on one of the factors influencing space policy-strategic culture. Its influence is analysed through case studies of seven nations. Each case study is divided into two parts. First, we identify relevant characteristics of the state's strategic culture. Then, we analyse whether and how the identified characteristics of the respective strategic culture influence the space policy of a state in question. This article seeks to contribute to the growing debate about space as "the next" strategic area and highlights rather overlooked reasons of space exploration. |

(LV.): 22-40 | DOI: 10.3849/2336-2995.23.2014.02.022-040 The topic of this essay is an insight into the interrelations of the economic analysis of armed conflict. Securitology-Teaching about Security and Non-SecurityNonreviewed - OtherDoc. Ing. Josef Janošec, CSc.Vojenské rozhledy / Czech Military Review Nr. 3/2007, Vol. XVI. The Structure of Security System of the Czech RepublicOpinions, controversyIng. Vladimír KrulíkVojenské rozhledy / Czech Military Review Nr. 2/2007, Vol. XVI. (XLVIII.): 77-88 The purpose of this article is to offer readers rather different look at the Czech Security system as that was presented in Vojenské rozhledy No 1, 2007, in an essay by dr. Rašek "Creation of the Foundations of Security Science", in which its author enumerates relevant institutions in Czech society, civilian or armed, involved in this complex security system. It is the definition of security that causes that Mr. Krulík adds other security elements and amends security system by references to basic law and legal norms that are in the background of this system. Even simple summary indicates that our security system is too complicated, tangled, without balance. It is a static picture of institutions, the validity of which could be proved only in practice. It is evident that security process should be more dynamic, as its suitability and effectiveness can be only proved face to face crisis situations. This problem is tied to the question of military expenses. Mr. Krulík hopes that further budget cuts in public sector will produce drawing up real concept of security system. |
