Systems Approach in Economic Practice of the ACRNonreviewed - OtherIng. Svatopluk KuncVojenské rozhledy / Czech Military Review Nr. 1/2007, Vol. XVI. (XLVIII.): 45-51 The proposals of systems approach are sometimes met with a negative acceptance. While solving difficult problems, army members exploit mere practical approaches and they proved to be successful. For that reason the author offers a short glimpse into systems thinking, as necessary starting point for pinpointing the cause of current difficulties. The system is any collection of component elements that work together to perform a task. In economic science, system is used in a variety of contexts. Military cost-effective system can be an essential programme that manage Planning Programming and Budgeting System, flexibly reacting to emerging military challenges resulting from new budget rules (based upon NATO doctrines). One of possible causes of disproportionate and undesirable reactions are wrongly set systems rules, e.g. in market systems manifested by the so-called risks factors. In the forces, the same position ought to be held by unified systems rules, taking into account individual economic subsystems (billing systems, spending elements, etc.), harmonizing them in terms of general independent economic principles. |

Combat Rations for Troical Regions and their Nutritional ValueReviewed - Researchdoc. Ing. Jan Hrabě, Ph.D., Prof. Ing. Ignác Hoza, Dr.Sc., MUDr. Pavel Budínský, Ph.D, Ing. Luděk Novák, Daniel BendaVojenské rozhledy / Czech Military Review Nr. 4/2015, Vol. XXIV. (LVI.): 47-57 | DOI: 10.3849/2336-2995.24.2015.04.046-057 The article specifies combat rations developed specifically for military catering in tropical regions (CRTRs). The ingredients and use value of foods used in these rations identified as CRTRs are different from those of previously established combat rations (CRs). When establishing them, specific requirements for each food component had to be respected, in particular with respect to storage conditions, use of foods with a long minimum shelf life (MSL) at extreme temperatures, reduced weight of the foods used, and adequate amount of beverages. The TCRs were developed by MEDIAP Slušovice, who designed 7 variants of these rations in total. Nutritional value tests and sensory evaluations following the storage test at modified temperatures after the thermostat test at a tropical temperature of 55 °C were made by the panel of evaluators in the laboratory of the College of Business and Hotel Management in Brno, Tomas Bata University in Zlín. |

(LVI.): 68-78 The article aims at highlighting the dangers of long underestimating the need to permanently improve the defense capabilities to deal with current and future security threats.
