Dr. Július Baláž, born in 1959. He graduated from Philosophy Faculty of the Charles Univerzity in Prague, in 1982, majoring in history. Since 1990, he has been working in the Military Historical Archive in Prague. In 1991 he finished the external doctoral studies at the Charles University in Prague. He specialized in ethnic issues in Czechoslovakia. In the military historical archive he is specializing in the World War II and the Second Czechoslovak Resistance. Since 1996, he is the Director of the Military Historical Archive.
