Maj. Dr. Josef Ručka, born in 1963. He graduated from the Military College of the Ground Forces in Vyskov. He performed various command and staff positions at the units and departments of the mechanised troops. He worked in the Emergency Management Department of the General Staff in Prague. In 2005 he graduated from the postgraduate studies in the field of Defence of the State at the University of Defence, Brno. Now he works in the Armed Forces Doctrines Centre, where he deals with the processing of doctrines, rules and equipment, including the training of Armed Forces. He publishes on the issue of peacekeeping operations, preparation and use of the units in the military operations.
