Professor František Božek, Ph.D., born in 1950. He graduated from the University of Chemical Technology in Pardubice and worked at the Research Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry in Brno. In 1979 – 2004 he was engaged at the Military College of Land Forces in Vyškov. In 2002 he was appointed Professor of Military Units and Population Protection. Since 2004 he has acted at the University of Defence and the Mendel University in Brno. He deals with the issues of environmental security focusing on the waste management, proactive environmental policy and risk management. He publishes the results of scientific work at home and abroad. He is a member of scientific and professional advice teams and scientific societies, working groups, inter alia, within NATO/ETWG and NATO/EPWG.
