COL Tomáš Rak, born in 1964, graduated from the Military College in Vyškov (1986), FüAkBw in Hamburg (2004) and NDC in Rome (2011). From 1986 to 1996, he served at various command and staff positions at the mechanized infantry units. From 1996 to 2004, he was appointed to the Military Academy in Brno. By 2011 he hold appointment as a Chief of the Doctrine Center in Vyškov. From 2011-2014 he was appointed to the HQ U. S. Army TRADOC in Fort Eustis, VA, USA. Since 2014, he works at the Centre for Security and Military-Strategic Studies, University of Defense, Brno, where the main area of responsibility relates to the military art and crisis management issues.
