BG Pavel Kolář, born in 1970, graduated from the Army College in Vyškov (1992), completed the Special Forces Detachment Officers Course in the USA (2001), and the Czech General Staff Course (2017). From 1993 to 2002, he served in various command and staff positions at the 6th Special Brigade of the General Staff. From 2002 to 2003, he served a tour at Tampa, Florida. Between 2003 and 2008 he served at multiple staff positions at the 601st Special Forces Group, and later as a Deputy Director J5 NSCC SHAPE in Mons, Belgium. From 2011 he was a Department Director in the MoD 603rd Operation Centre and from 2017 he serves as a Director of the Special Forces Directorate. His operational deployments include four missions in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Afghanistan.
