Prof. Jiří F. Urbánek, born 1949, had initially worked for 14 years in industrial enterprises. He graduated and consequently improved his education at Brno University of Technology, where he was appointed associate professor of automation of engineering technologies in 1990. He pedagogically worked and habilitated in the theory of combat activities management (2003). Simultaneously, he lectured on process management of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. He taught the protection of troops and the population at the University of Defence in Brno for 12 years. His scientific and academic activities culminated in leading students in organization management of economy and administration activities with focus on continuity of value-added risks at the University of Finance and Administration in Prague.
