Assoc. prof. Pavel Salák, PhD, born 1977. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno in 2002, obtaining his PhD in 2007. He completed his habilitation in Roman Law with the work "Testamentum militis as an Inspirational Source of Modern Inheritance Law" at the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague in 2017. He currently works as an associate professor in Roman Law at the Department of History of State and Law at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, where he focuses on the influence of Roman law on modern codifications, particularly in the area of inheritance law. His interests include Roman Law, Legal History, and Military Law.
